Mushroom Stroganoff

A gourmet version of the famous Russian dish developed in St Petersburg in the 1890’s and named after the famous Stroganoff family, for whom its creator was chef at the time. Fresh mushrooms are tossed in a blend of paprika, coarse grain mustard and garlic, then flamed with brandy and bound with double cream. Traditionally served with ribbon noodles or plain boiled rice.
